OAT

One more issue has popped up. My OAT suddenly is 4 to 6 degrees off of actual. This feature has been either on the money with the local AWOS or w/i 1 degree. Since I calibrated and swung the compass last week the error has shown up. I can reset the OAT on the Dynon by going into the setup phase, but noted that when the temp warms up the OAT loses the accuracy anyway. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for feedback.

It may be the probe. Mine (not a Dynon) is sensitive to the temp of the mounting hardware as well as the probe tip. My mounting hardware is inside the cockpit and I had to insulate that side from the cabin temps which increased the temp reading.

Thjanks, John. I worked with Dynon Support yesterday and after various setup tests we think it may be OK. At any rate Dynon has offered me a new probe if this one acts up again.
