As a (barely) relevant aside, when/why did Van's switch from the good, old AN365 to the MS21042 nuts? I used the former on my old -8 everywhere other than firewall-forward, where the all-metal nuts seemed like a better choice.
I still prefer the 365s, as they take a standard ⅜" wrench (of which I have many different lengths and types), whereas the 21042s take a ?" wrench (of which I have correspondingly fewer) which always seem to slip off the tiny nuts' limited grip area at the most inopportune moments.
