Nose wheel fairing scuffing

On my -7A, I took the front of the nose wheel fairing off to repair a cut, caused by the threaded end of the AN5-17A bolt, which holds the WD-631bracket on. The bolt cuts into the fairing as the wheel is swiveled fully to make a hard right turn. What have others done to avoid this?

I noticed that even after I filed the end of the bolt down, the fairing still rides up on the nut at full deflection. Any ideas or thoughts on how to correct this?

I also noticed that the bottom of the nose piece has minor scuffing, apparently from hard surface (runway) contact. I strive to keep the nosewheel at 35 psi and hold the nose off until is comes down on it's own, hopefully gently. Of course, l my landings haven't been perfect. Has anyone observed the same on their plane? Have I been "seconds from disaster"?

Thanks,

Mike
