Nose Gear Isolator Washer

In the RV10 build plans, it makes mention of two isolator washers… use one and add the other one when the elastomers take on a permanent set.

How does one know when this occurs? Reason I ask is because I’m getting a vibration when cruising above 160KTAS or when in a descent. It’s definitely speed related and when i looked at some video, i see the nose gear vibrating. I’m wondering if this might be the cause.

The instructions below dont really give any direction at all into when this thing needs to be added. I’m guessing many of you have never gone back to add it.

1. Tie the tail down, to elevate the nose wheel 1”
2. Use your hand to push the nose wheel vertically upwards. If it moves easily, you need another washer (or replacement of the donuts).
