New gear leg and fork

Does anybody have any experience with the new (I hope improved) gear leg? Does it still have the translational shimmy? Does it make sense to add the stiffeners? Van's says that the new leg doesn't need stiffening. I fly the 9A.

If you are upgrading

If you are upgrading from the 603-2 to the 603-3, then the gear legs are exactly the same except the axle is 1 inch shorter on the 603-3.

Nose gear leag

Not quite true - the diameter at just below the motor mount entry area is 1/8 inches larger than the old leg. So my guestion is has this change (and the shorter axle as you point out) changed the longitudinal shimmy. I never had rotational shimmy. Thanks.
