Hi All,
I just wanted to share that a few days ago Daniel Gray crushed (by 19 seconds) the FAI Time to Climb to 3000M record in a Harmon Rocket using a 2-Rotor Mazda Rotary engine. With a time of 1 min 40 sec.
Older records here.
Here is a video.
They bought a used H. Rocket, sold the aircraft engine, then installed a turbo 2-rotor rotary and optimized everything for the time to climb. They were getting about 650hp from the 2-rotor engine block that weighs less than 200lbs.
Note that this new record beats all the records in all classes of internal combustion engine powered aircraft.
