New Builder??

Pilotman

I'm New Here
Trying to decide whether to build a RV-12. Needless to say I need to see and talk first hand to some other folks that are both in process and flying one to pull the trigger. I live in the Dallas TX area and would appreciate some help in the decision making process. I currently have a airplane and can fly anywhere reasonably close. Lunch is on me!

Thanks in advance!

Click on my builder's blog and read my very first post entitled "Making the decision."

I can't address flying one, but I can tell you building is about as simple as it gets. You can see a bunch of high school kids doing it at mykitlog.com/bobkelly . As well as being easier, IMHO it is more fun to build than the other RVs. There have been plenty of flight reviews, and all seem to say it is another RV--read, great flying aircraft!

Contact

Keith, PM either jetguy or rdog (John Albury or Colin Richardson) on this forum and I'm sure they could help you out with "hands on" training with a RV12. They are based at Denton, TX airport.

Read several blogs about the construction process. These are a few of the best:

This is a great read, and on the right side of the page you can download a PDF of all of the blogs covering about 2/3 of the plane's construction (which is still is progress.)

And my public gallery of pics and comments - you can go through this in about 5 minutes and get a pretty good idea, it is not a detailed blog:
