I thought you'd like to see my vents just out of the box today:
No, they aren't really carbon fiber. I just had them hydro-dipped. Since they will be partially visible under the panel, I didn't want that weird translucent yellow-white nylon showing and I didn't trust normal paint. But I know that hydro-dipping has been used with various materials and I can testify that it worked well here. A bit pricey but probably cheaper than getting actual carbon fiber parts.
