MT Prop Cracks

Hello,

I was cleaning my prop today. I noticed lateral cracks on the surface emulsion, present on all three blades, though one has more than the the others. I took some photos. They appear like streak marks, but they are not. They definitely have a small but noticeable relief above the surface.

My aircraft, EI-EEO is an RV 7 with about 230 on the Hobbs. Engine is a Lycoming IO-360 180Hp 8.5 compression.

Prop is an MTV-12-B-183-59b

Advice?

Best regards,

Andrew Butler.

Andrew,

What year was your prop made ?

There is an SB out that covers these problems.

I would suggest you get in touch with Ali Mant at Proptech in Portsmouth - they are MT dealers and he has helped me out with similar.

http://www.proptech.aero/contacts/

PM or email me for further info, I am in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

Not back home until Monday, in Cancun at work.

Mike
