My hangar was built for my now-sold Rv6A. It had 3-ft off each wing tip, and 3-ft off the nose and tail...just nice walk around room. The -6A wings were 23-ft, but the -12 is 26'-9", and the distance between the vertical door posts is exactly 27'-0" so I have 1.5-inch clearance...not enough.
I got wheel dollies (around $135 each unless you want junk ones) and modified them slightly to fit the smaller aircraft tires. Here is a photo of what one looks like...one person can easily move the plane around when all three wheels are raised...I can then 'cant' the plane and move it more or less a bit sideways so the wings clear the door frame, drop the dollies -- it turned out to be a LOT less expensive than modifying the hangar.
