More Fuselage Questions

I'm having a problem ... as usual. In section 23-08 step 1 I made 2-10' cowl hinges and when I place them in the position of figure 1 they don't sit the same way. The right hinge topside starts with a loop and then a space in the picture. Mine starts with a space then a loop. I'm guessing it doesn't make a difference in this case Am I correct? I cut the hinge exactly as they did in the drawing and got different locations of the loop.

Cut the hinge 10.5 inches long

Jerry,
You need to cut a piece 10.5 inches long and study it. Then cut a half inch off from the correct end so that it matches the picture.
