Material for firewall spacer RV-9A?

I am needing to make the two small 5/8 inch by 3 inch (F-601P) spacers to fill a gap between the firewall skin and related parts. The print (DWG 19) says to use .063 2024-T3 alclad aluminum. Does any remember what stock they cut these from? The only material I have that is .063 and is just flat sheet is two pieces 3-7/8 by 11 inches. I didn't find any 5/8 wide small strips and am afraid if I use one of the bigger pieces I will find out later they were meant for something different.

Jim-
Those size sheets sound like they are from a "trim bundle", which are basically "scrap" to use as you wish, and are not meant for anything in particular.
If they definately came from a trim bundle, or a check of the inventory list doesn't turn up any other .063 sheet, I would feel comfortable using them. But then, I'm still only on the wings...
