Making a New Part

Good Morning,
Due to a drilling error, I want to make a new leading edge rib for my RV6. The original piece is .025 2024T3. Can I make the new piece out of 2024T3 or do you think I need to form it out of soft aluminum and heat treat it to T3 after forming?

2024-T3 cold works just fine. No need to add additional work.

You can fab it from 2024T3. Just be sure to incorporate the necessary minimum bend radius on the edge of your hammerform.....about a 1/16 for 0.025 if I remember correctly.

My next project. All these ribs were handmade on steel hammerforms in a home shop, by my friend Raymond Griffin.
