That's true but they use lots of dense foam in that cardboard box. The box is just a cover over the foam praising UAW quality work... It makes package stiff and resist poking. You have to cut it to release the engine
Believe it or not from Lycoming it's a cardboardbox over a wooden pallet about 4ftX3.5ftX3ft high

Just a follow up in case someone wants to know in the future. The crate mine came in was 43" x 43" and 28" high including the wood skids.
