lube the hinges routine

during my preflight I normally lube the hinges with LPS1 if it is convenient. I have found LPS1 doesn't attract much dust. these are my original gas caps - 8 years of use. I normally don't lube items that don't have much movement such as flaps, elevator trim or carb heat hinges. I did spray the carb heat hinge this time to clean it for visual inspection... looks good, 950 hrs and in pristine condition.

note: those paint chips around the gas cap happened this year at Oshkosh. line boys digging them out with knives.
