Lower Cylinder Baffle

How do I connect the retainer rod from the baffle between the cylinders to the spring on top? Engine is an 0320. Thanks for the help.
I ended up pushing down on the spring with a big screw driver and pulling up the rod with saftey wire. Friend helped. Thanks for the suggestions.

Push....

You can push down the top retainer enough to get the hook on the end of the rod to fit over the bar in the center of the slot. It takes a bit of force, but it is doable...

Safety Wire Too

Tie about a foot of safety wire to the upper end of the hook and thread it through the spring. Pull on wire when pushing on spring.

FYI - if the hooks are too loose, you can "tighten" them with some bends like this:
