Looking for Performance Numbers comparison O320 vs O235

slykins

I'm New Here
1-Does anybody have performance numbers for the RV-9 O320 fixed pitch and constant speed props.
2-Has anybody done a comparison between the O320 and O235 for cruise economy.
I live in the midwest and fly off of a 5000 foot concrete runway, so takeoff performance is not a factor. I am looking to build the most efficient RV for my kind of flying. I am not interested in aerobatics Any thoughts.

On Van's website, they give RV-9 performance figures for both engines using a fixed pitch prop.

A constant speed prop will give better performance in acceleration, climb, and possibly efficiency, but at a signficiant up front cost. Top speed probably won't change much from the fixed pitch unit.

As far as cruise economy goes, 0-235 and 0-320 powered -9's will be reasonably close at equivalent speeds. Of course, the 0-320 will go faster than the 0-235 if you're willing to burn more fuel.
