LG Fairing Attachments

I was wondering what techniques you all have found to best attach the tops of your landing gear fairings to the fuselage. The original builder did what can be seen in this picture and it was broken when I picked up the aircraft and I attempted to just do a quick glass repair which lasted for 11.5 hours; but now will need to fixed a bit better...

Thanks for any ideas...

Tony's Layup

Thanks for the great step by step pictures Tony! I've made some intake pieces for my rotary and the principles of glassing are all the same pretty much, but it's still nice to see pictures of the steps some one else followed who has gone before!

Take care,

Doug

New upper intersection fairing

I spent about 2.5 hrs on Memorial Day adding duct tape and then modeling clay to my messed up, upper intersection area to build a fairing where none was before. Here is the finished product which still needs some more sanding, and also the addition of internal platenuts or something similar to hold the halves together.

Progress anyway!
