Lemke Seats and Crow Harness questions

Good morning everyone,

While I wait for the delivery of my fuselage I have been pondering the options for an interior. It looks like I have settled on a Lemke seat package with Crow 5 Point Kam lock harnesses. Given the lead time on the seats I plan on getting those ordered in the near future.

With that in mind, can I ask if the RV8 is set up for a single restraint at the rear of the front seat for the shoulder straps or a 2-point restraint, also, are the Lemke seats set up for a particular width of strap, or would I need to specify that when ordering the seats? (I understand they now have cut outs in the seat back for straps) Given the number of options available for both the seats and especially the straps, I want to make this as seamless a purchase as possible.

If anyone has this set up already and has any advice, or pros and cons, that would certainly be greatly appreciated!

Get the 2” Crow harness for the RV-8 and everything will fit fine. I do recommend the pads on the shoulder harness.

I have a 7, not an 8, but for anyone who stumbles across this thread in the future...

The "stock" Crow shoulder harnesses with the single adjustable strap back to the cable won't work with the headrest-equipped tall Lemke seats. You'll need to get one where the two straps go back right to the plate that bolts to the cable.

Unfortunately I do not have an easy way to measure this; I discovered it in final assembly years after purchasing the harnesses. But Crow customer service is amazing, I adjusted the straps to about where they needed to be and sent them back, and got custom units received that work great.
