Thanks everyone for their imput.
Battery was not shorted and was charged to a positive 13.7 volts.
Had a bad diode that shorted and melted couple wires coverings.
Is being fixed as I write this. Fortunately have good shop run by Ross Palmer that really knows his electronics.
I pulled the front six pack panel away and removed altimeter to get to the electrical bus for him and he took it from there.
