KLX-135a Sidetone

The sidetone when keying up has never worked in my 6A.
Bought it this way. Anyone have a clue as to what didn't get hooked up or what to adjust? I do have another intercom the Com runs through....it works fine for volume/squelch etc.

And these radios ship, by default, with their sidetone turned all the way down since most installations employ a separate intercom that provides its own sidetone.

Try this

If I remember correctly, when you slide the radio out of the tray, you will see a couple of holes on the top or bottom of the radio. (They may be covered by a circular piece of tape.) One of these should be marked Tone, Side or Side Tone.
Through that hole, you can access an adjustable pot to turn the sidetone up or down. You will need a small screwdriver to do this. Make a mark with a sharpie as to where you started and then adjust, using trial and error, to get the amount of sidetone you want.

I just found a 135A install manual on the Aeroelectric website: http://www.aeroelectric.com/Installation_Data/KLX135A.pdf

On the KLX-135A, you might need to jumper pins 5 and E together on the P4001 rear connector to get the internal sidetone to work.
