K1000-06 nutplates riveted behind dimpled holes?

Well like many, I neglected the depiction in the horizontal and vertical stab drawings showing where to leave out the rivets for future K1000-06 nutplates to secure the fairings. (This was a change from the RV-4 plans) No biggie, just carefully drilled them out, but still had the dimple obviously. Made those holes larger to accept the 6-32 stainless steel screws, cleaned up everything so there are no burrs. Still have dimples though, even with the now-#27 holes for the screws.

So the question is...how to rivet the K1000-6 nutplates to the rib flanges with the dimples present? I experimented with bending the nutplate tabs a bit, and can still rivet them in place, but the middle "barrel" part of the nutplate will be elevated a little, away from the rib flange and obviously riding on the dimple and not flush to the flange.

Any ideas if this is OK, or how to otherwise handle it?

Thanks!

You can flatten the dimples with two flush sets in a squeezer, then countersink with a deburring tool for reduced head flush rivets.
