J.P.I Classic 100 CHT/EGT monitor question

I have that unit in my T18, I run a O-320 E2D (160 hp) and have a question that eludes me...

fyi; I have read the operators manual front to back several times :)

In either A (automatic) or M (manual) mode the unit displays 5th cylinder data in CHT and EGT mode...(optional I am led to understand)

I know that when monitoring CHT the 5th cyl indication = OIL TEMP

However in EGT mode... according the the manual the 5th cyl indication should be TIT..... I am not turbo charged but I am seeing and indication that approximates the other EGT values!

Any ideas what its trying to tell me with the 5th cyl data on EGT mode; it goes without saying that I didn't build the a/c nor are the electrical diagrams very helpful.
