Issue With My Nose Fork

I think I might have a defectives part. It did have signs of wear and residue like it was previously used when I received it from Van's which makes me think I wasn't the first person to have it and send it back.

When trying to install the fork onto the gear leg, it meets resistance. I'm thinking there is an issue with the bushings that are installed. I have already emailed Van's Support but I wanted to see if anyone here could help me by either verify that the part truly is defective or maybe I'm missing or doing something wrong.

Below is a video demonstrating the problem.

I don't have direct knowledge about the parts but it sure looks like something is out of round (oval or egg shaped). Maybe check a few points on the leg and bushings with a set of calipers?

I took some measurements this morning and was very discouraged with my findings. Looks like the issue is actually the nose gear axel. When placing a straight edge up to the front and aft sides you can see that it is not straight and true.

UPDATE: I opened a ticket with Van's and I haven't received a final answer yet, but the initial response was they are going to have to send me out a replacement nose gear leg.

Maybe someone sanded it down so as to easier fit on the wheel assembly. I know mine needed some adjustment.
