Is a 5'8" 275lb passenger workable in my RV-6?

Folks,

I have a firend who I would like to take flying but I am a bit concerned he may not be able to get in and out of the seat.

Can anyone advise how they have managed passengers of this size?

Is stick slearance a problem?

Any other advice would be welcome.

Well I happen to know someone that flys very often in RV6A and RV7's that sorta fits that profile....:p

Stick clearance should not be a problem. Just make sure the seat back is back as far as it will go.

The stock Van's seat belts can be a challenge for larger people. They are not as long as some of the other brands.

If you do have seatbelt or stick issues with him, just take out the seat back cushion. This will give you plenty of extra room.

Look up seat belt extenders.

Not that people are out to get me but I think that someone is slowly shortening my seat belts.

I've had much larger folks in the plane, not an issue. Move the upper seat adjustment all the way back and pull out any extra bottom cushions and you're good to go.
