IO-540 Cold Air Induction

For those running this engine, I would appreciate some measurements. These are needed for an RV-10 cowl project.

The below photo shows the two dimensions needed. If you don’t have the fuel servo mounted, a measurement from the sump inlet would work as well.

The plan is to use an AirFlow Performance FM-200 injection system.

Thanks,
Carl

I've got the BPE one, not Thunderbolt.. so unfortunately can't help out.
Hopefully someone else can.

Jeff,

Thanks for sending. Now I understand why Don at AFP provides the 4 degree spacer for the ShowPlanes cowl.

I’ll be using the FM-200 fuel servo, so if you could take the measurements from the sump intake instead of the forward part of the servo we can do the math for the rest.

The target is to make a filter box similar to what Dan Horton made - but perhaps supported by the engine instead of the cowl: https://vansairforce.net/community/showpost.php?p=370492&postcount=9

The issue is making adequate spacing in the cowl as it curves up the bottom to the top in the front.
