Would it be bad manner to ask owners of flying RV-12s how much they're paying for insurance, and whether they're flying as Private or Sport Pilot (i.e. with or without medical)? I'm assuming the insured hull value is around $100K and liability is $1M (sub-limit $100K per passenger).
I'm 52 yrs old, VFR Private Pilot, with 900 hrs. Right now, I'm paying $520/year (liability: $150, hull: $370) through AOPA/AIG for a 1980 C-152 hangared at a Class D airport, hull value $25K, liability $1M (sub-limit $100K). Just wondering how much it'll be when I build my RV-12 and fly as a Sport Pilot.
