Info for flying into Aurora, IL

We have a wedding in Aurora, IL this coming weekend, and the weather looks good right now for an RV trip. I can fly right into Aurora (KARR), which is way better than flying into Ohare or Midway, obviously.

Anybody have any tips for flying in there? FBO choice? How about getting from the train station on Sunday back to the airport? The wedding is Friday night, so we're thinking of heading to downtown Chicago on Saturday for one night.

Don't know much about KARR, but be cautious of the parachutists and gliders that operate out of Hinckley (0C2) airport about 10 miles west of ARR. Was there a couple weekends ago and they had 150 tandem jumps scheduled on Sunday...that's a lot of 4-legged objects falling from 14,000 feet!

Another option might be KDPA...but not sure about transportation in the city.

Metra Train

Your best bet for train to airport information is probably the FBO. We have relatives in Sugar Grove, IL (which is where the airport is located) and its about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Aurora. Here is a link to the suburban train system: http://metrarail.com/metra/en/home.html
