Improved door latch

Just thought I would share a short video of possible solution to the door latch issue:

This is from a LancAir Evolution Baggage door.

Notice how the latches go down and then in. The air lines are for the inflatable seal. (The Evo is pressurized.)

That is one complex mechanism.

I like it!

I will say that the door latch mechanism on the 14 is a nice improvement over the previous RV door latch design.
It has rods that slide in and out of the door latch instead of the little steel finger.

I couldn't find a picture of it. Does anyone have a picture they can post?

My door flew open once while flying, so I'm in favor of better door latches. :)
 
Having helped a friend with his Lancair PropJet door seals, I would not want to try to implement that in a -10. It is bulky, heavy, and hard to tweak (though most of the tweaking involved getting a good enough seal for pressurization, which wouldn't be a problem for us).
