Icom IC-A14 Use With Headset?

Need a new backup com radio, so I'm looking at the IC-A14.

It needs a headset adapter, which is fine. However, does it also require an Icom push-to-talk switch, or will it transmit voice via a headset just by pressing the transmit key on the radio case?

The ptt on radio works fine no need for additional switch
