Hello,
my name is Mathias and i live in germany, i have finished a Rv3b, and i try to get an PH- registration. so far so good!!
now they told me that they want to see a CofA of a similar equipt Rv3!!!?????
i don?t know why they want it:confused:, but my rv3 is now since 3 month in the hangar ready for first flight, and i only wait for the papers!!!!
My RV3 is equipt with a O320 and ED Sterba 68x70 Prop.
Maybe someone can help me out? a picture of your CofA would help to get her into the air.:D

A 'CofA' is a "Certificate of Airworthiness" in Europe speak.

Mathias - I doubt there is an RV-3 worldwide that is a "Certified" aircraft. In the US they are "Experimental", in the UK they operate on a 'Permit to Fly'.

However, from conversations with European RV builders, I am not sure you need a CofA, just whatever paperwork is needed for an equivalent aircraft in the USA (or wherever) to fly. So maybe someone with a flying RV-3B in the USA could show whatever your DAR / FAA gives you that then allows you to fly?

HTH?

Hello Andy!

youre right! but in the netherlands they reorganized the certification progress, and the inspector want?s to see that min. one of that kind (Rv3) is realy certified and its not only pictured on vans webside!!
i have done all the paperwork that was needed to get an experimental registration, but right now they want to see more :-(

also over in europe rv?s still experimental aircrafts, to get a real certificated aircraft you have to invest a lot of money!!

thanx
