HS405 to HS702 to HS801PP Min Edge Distance issue?

Hey All,

I might have run into my first problem with empenage construction. I could see this problem coming a mile away but decided to drill it anyways- the hole that will attach the titled parts is less than min edge distance on the flange of HS405.


I'm 1/16 short, on both sides. Everything else lines up great and I have had a great time building so far!


Whaddya think? Is there anything I can do to prevent this on the other stab?

Nope don't think so 9ZA, the hole was drilled with the HS405 clecoed and clamped in place tight with the structure all around.

I just spoke with Vans, apparently it's a "known Issue"!

Hmm.

I figured after I posted that the flange really was 90?, and the camera was playing tricks on me.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I did see this too, but I didn't mention it in my build log, which I try to always do for weird stuff like that.

Sounds like you got it sorted out. Sorry for trying to lead you astray.
