After a few engine runs with the cowling in place, I noticed the areas of the cowling along the piano hinge were hot to the touch. The remainder of the cowl was also a little hot. Is this normal for ground runs? How hot can the cowling be before its damaged? I have heat shield material on the lower cowling near the exhaust for protection, but the upper cowl is getting hot as well.
