Good morning,
There is an airport open house and Young Eagles event being planned for Robertson Field (4B8), Plainville, CT on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 10:00 - 14:00 EDT. This is in advance of a voter referendum being held on March 31, 2009 to decide whether the town should buy the airport and continue to run it rather than let it be sold for development.
AOPA, FAA, CT DOT, the town government and our local EAA chapters want the purchase to go forward so Robertson remains a viable airport with Interstate Aviation continuing as the FBO operator.
There is a small, yet vocal, group of anti-airport voters who want to defeat the proposal. The local pilot and building community is rallying in support of the proposal to help Robertson remain as an airport. If you are looking for someplace to fly on the first day of spring, please think about visiting Robertson and help us 'show the flag' to local, non-aviation voters.
