Has the RV-12 any carb heat

Does any one know if Van's has any carb heat on the Rotax 912, nothing to see in the cockpit, maybe somthing like the English system, heated by cooling liquid.

The 912 series is known for being less prone to carb ice. Some attribute it to the location of the carbs (on top of the engine), some to the dual carb setup.

In a lot of the LSA setups, the cowlings are pretty tight and the carbs stay warm. Instead of carb heat, some have alternate air intake, using air from inside the cowling. It would be see what cowling temps are like on the -12.

The brits in particular like to use carb heat that uses coolant to keep the carbs / intake air warm. This can certainly be added.

I have the alternate air setup on the CT and fly without worry. I'd want to see how the -12 cowling setup performed before making a decision.

You can buy an add-on, if not supplied +/- $500
