GTX327 Data In Format

Does anyone know the format that the GTX327 expects when a serial input is set to 'GPS'?

Garmin Aviation format or NMEA?

When set to "GPS", the RS-232 input on the GTX 327 expects to receive "Aviation" formatted data from a panel-mounted GPS navigator. None of the Garmin transponders are capable of receiving NMEA-formatted RS-232 data.
