Grass strip takeoff

Hi,

I got a RV7 it is at a airport with a grass strip, 900 feet usable, 1500 more but rough
Will a RV7 get off the ground in 900 feet on grass? (180Hp fixed pitch)
Does anyone here have experience with a 7 on grass. Field elevation 640Ft
Current density Alt 3300 Ft. The aircraft was never flown and just got the final inspection done.

Not the place for a first test flight. I would take it somewhere else.

Short grass?
How heavy?
How good is your technique? When did you last do a short field TO?
If the first time flying the airplane, I'd knock the wings off and move to a better facility.

Agree. Even with a lightweight airplane flown by a professional test pilot, my first flight needed about 1000 ft on hard surface, due to calm wind, and fixed-pitch propeller. First flight is not a time to test short field takeoff technique. The DA at time time was over 1000ft. Your DA will be higher than this.

Absolutely NOT for first flight. For 1st flight you need room to abort take-off.
