Governor compatibility

Does anyone know if the McCauley prop governor works with a Hartzell C/S ?
thanks
Assuming this is a typical RV setup, NOT an aerobatic prop or aerobatic governor.

Been running that combination for 10+ years. This includes a prop re-seal and governor overhaul somewhere around 1100 hours. 1350+ hrs to date. Works for me! (y)

To answer your question we need to know more.
Specifically if the propeller is increasing or decreasing the pitch with oil pressure.
Is it a standard prop or aerobatic prop ?
Typically, constant-speed units on a single-engine aircraft use oil pressure to increase the pitch.
If the governor fails, the propeller will automatically return to fine pitch, allowing the aircraft to be operated at lower speeds.
On an aerobatic aircraft, the governor will typically use oil pressure to decrease the pitch. That way, if the CSU fails, overspeed is prevented.
The governor must match the type of prop you have.

Good luck
