GNC250XL longivity

Hi. I'm putting together a Skyview Touch panel for a gent (RV-6 VFR machine) along with the Skyview Com & Intercom as com1. He has currently a KX125TSO & GNC250XL installed. Which would you leave in to use as com2? Is the 250 still a good long term unit with data support? Would you leave a VOR in as alternate nav source?

My GNC250XL still works great. And I use it as #1 comm.
