I'm hooking up my 430 to my 240 audio panel and have a question for you experts out there. The wiring diagrams have me a bit confused. Its clear that the 430 Com 1 audio HI pin 7 connects to the 240 Com 1 audio HI pin 9. Also the 430 Com 1 audio LO pin 19 connect to the 240 Com 1 audio LO pin 10. It also shows the 430 Com 1 mic audio HI pin 6 connects to the 240 Com 1 mic audio out pin 11. The 430 com 1 mic key pin 4 connects to the 240 com 1 mic key out pin 12. The 430 com 1 mic audio LO pin is where i get confused as there is no corresponding connection shown to the GMA 240. I would like to assume that I connect it to the 240 pin 10 also but I'm just not sure. Can someone who has walked this path give me some enlightenment here.

Hello Jrskygod,

It seems you have this figured out.

The GNS 430W manual shows COM MIC AUDIO LO on pin 18 connected to COM1 MIC AUDIO LO on pin 10 on the GMA 340. You may also connect it to pin 10 on the GMA 240.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey there G3X Thanks!!!

Would it cause a problem not to connect pin 18 on the 430 to pin 10 on the gma240? Just curious!!

Also the same situation appears on the Com 2 connections so I am assuming that I can connect my SL40 pin 13 to the GMA 240 pin 14 for the ground reference?

Hello Jrskygod,

Yes, connecting SL40 pin 13 to the GMA 240 pin 14 COM 2 AUDIO LO is correct.

Connecting pin 18 on the 430 to pin 10 on the GMA 240 is recommended to be consistent with the guidance in the 430 installation manual, but it may not be necessary and you can try it without if you like.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks G3Xpert

Already hooked it up to pin 10. Thanks for the help. Sometime I just over think these things and this site is amazing in its breadth of knowledge and the folks willing to assist us mere mortals.
