GDL 39 - GTX 23ES setup

I just picked up a GDL39 3D and I'm wondering if I need to reconfigure my GTX 23ES via the G3X Remote Transponder config page to set ADS-B UAT In and ADS-B 1090ES In to "supported" even if for the time being my GDL 39 is not hardwired to the legacy G3X so there's no actual direct communication between the two units (I'm using it with GarminPilot on my tablet)?

I would say yes since what this does is it informs the FAA ground stations what you are capable of receiving and since you have a dual band receiver, you can receive both.

Danke! That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure because of the way the G3X install manual is worded.
