Gauges for capacitive fuel sender

Simply would like a pair of analog fuel gauges to read off of Van's Capacitive Fuel Quantity Sender. Don't want to go the "fancy" digital display engine monitor route and all it's other attendant applications/readings. Is there a source for round dial gauges?
Thank you!

Ray,
You can use any of the common resistive fuel gauges with the capacitance senders. HOWEVER, you will need to install a converter module between the capacitance sending units and the resistive gauges to convert the signal. The Electronics International converter module will work or you can build your own.
This has been discussed on the list before. See

For the gauges, you can use a standard Stewart Warner gauge, the gauge sold by Vans or the Mitchell gauge. If you want lighting for night flying, the Mitchell gauges are the way to go. Vans gauges are less expensive than the Mitchell units. However, if you have to add in a lighting source, the self lit Mitchell units are less expensive. See

I note that Van's site claims that their new line of engine gauges are lighted. If this is true, the new Vans fuel guages are less expensive. See

You might want to call Vans to ensure that their fuel level gauges have back lighting. In the past, their gauges did not have back lighting.

Other manufacturers make capacitance fuel gauges. However, most of these require the use of the manufacturer's capacitance sending units.

Gauges for Capacitive Fuel Sender

I used the UMA 1-1/4 in dia dial gauges (ACS p/n 10-00040) with the Vans (Princeton) capacitive senders. The 2 set point (Empty & Full) senders are quite inaccurate because of the tank shape, you really need to get the 5 set point (E, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, F)senders to get meaningful indicators. I have connected the 0-5V sender signal into the GRT efis display & used a 10 pt calibration curve to provide a very accurate fuel level display, so I just use a "correction card" beside the gauges.
