Garmin software updates

I have a GTN 650 and G3X that have been sitting around for quite a while and are probably in need of software updates. Is this something I can do, or is this a thing I have to go to a dealer for? $$$ needed?
 
You can do it all to include the system software (ver 10.60 for the G3X and 6.11 for the GTN.)

Go to FlyGarmin, for the database updates, this thread on updating the 650"s system software http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=135305

The system updates are free but the databases will cost you. The cost will depend on what you update and whether or not you do a one time update or go with a subscription.
