can I turn on flight paths? I can't find anything. I expected this basic function for every aviation GPS.

I am exploring the android version. What functionality do you mean by, "flight paths"?

the "bread crumb" line that shows where you just flew.

I get "tracks" on the 496 but I don't see it in android pilot.

Download and try CloudAhoy - great capabilities and if you've not seen what it maps/tracks you'll be amazed!
