Garmin Handheld not acquiring sat signals

Guys i've had a Etrex Legend for a couple years now and justrecently thought i'd try and keep it with me in the plane for a backup. Problem is i can't get the thing to acquire satellites. I want to say i read a post about some other guys that have had the same problem. This isn't an aviation based gps just a little camping handheld.

I had the same problem

My 396 would not aquire satelites so I called tech support. There is an autolocate feature on mine. Check your manual, you may have the same thing.

The other week I had zero satellites on my 496. This was the first time it ever happened. It turned out not to be a GPS problem at all since it was fixed by cleaning the contacts within the connector of my remote antenna.
