Garmin G3X items

My RV-7 has dual G3X and GNS 650. Without an Audio panel or Audio Amp, the audio alerts from the G3X cannot be heard above a whisper. I ordered a $3.50 mono audio amp on Amazon,

the input was from Pin 1 on the G3X, power to the amp by the same G3X CB, and output to one side of the stereo phone plug with a 330 Ohm resistor inline. Works great!

It?s just amazing how inexpensive these op amps are. One suggestion: I would have installed a 1/2 amp in-line fuse, so an internal failure in the $3 box won?t trip the CB and render the G3X unusable. Of course, that does double the price!

Nothing unusual there, line level outputs are not designed to drive headphones. They are meant to be input to some type of amplifier like an audio panel or intercom with aux inputs.
