G3X Touch not incrementing engine cycle count

According to the Installation Manual the G3X “Engine Cycle Count” should record and display the number of engine cycles provided that Engine Cycle Record ode is not disabled. My Engine Time Record Mode is set to Variable Rate, but the engine cycle count is not incrementing after each flight. Is anyone else experiencing this? I can set the count manually, but I would like to see it being tracked automatically.

I've noticed it takes a few seconds after shutting down the engine to register. If you have a habit of powering off your avionics before shutting down the engine, this is probably why.

Cycles are tracked for turbines, not sure why it would matter for a recip.
