How long it should take for the system to update to the newest version?

I just powered the system today for the first time and decided to update the software. It seems to be stuck in a loop of different screens and is not going anywhere.
 
Mine takes a couple times of inserting and removing the SD card.

But, it's because my SD card is finicky. Everytime I get new software it seems I put it on that crappy SD card :mad:

Remove the SD card and replace it a couple times.
 
My update went smoothly,,,just did it the other day. Are you using the SD card that Garmin recommends in the manual?
 
Brand specific card they recommend-no.

However, I think I figured it out. I have a triple screen setup and once the first unit restarts, you must immediately update units two and three or unit one is stuck in a loop.
 
To keep from using up my battery, I have three SD cards, I believe they are 4GB Sandisk with a speed rating of 4. I insert all three and then turn on the power. It does not take more than a couple of minutes. I do the same thing for the nav-data updates. They can take up to 10 minutes for the Approach Plates.
