Fuel System

I am planning to go with a two electric fuel pump system with a back-up
battery as others have used on their RV3. How important is it to have a fuel
pressure gauge? How does the van's fuel pressure gauge hook-up? Is a transducer screwed into a tee fitting with little chance of adding a failure possibility and leaking fuel either in the cockpit or engine compartment?

The 3 I had made the connection for the fuel pressure gage near the carb, forward of the firewall.
