Fuel Primer Valve flow direction

Regarding the Vans / Aircraft Spruce Primer Valve 05-29823. Is there a proper flow direction? I read a post somewhere that said there was (they actually called the Parker Co.) to find out but now I cannot find that post again or any information regarding the flow direction. My valve has two ports marked 1 and 2 but no flow direction indicated anywhere. Looking inside the ports, they are somewhat differen't so I imagine there is a correct flow direction although it will probably work either way.

Yes, it does make a difference. My valve had a small sheet of paper packaged with the valve marking either port 1 or 2 as the input. I don't have it handy, but I do have this old build log photo that should make it clear:

Port Direction specified in catalog

Duh! I just checked Aircraft Spruce catalog and the description of the valve specifies the port assignments, 1 is Out and 2 is in.
